It is an honour to be nominated…truly!

It is an honour to be nominated for an award. To be nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year with two different organizations is amazing!

I often wondered

When nominees say it is an honour… is it really? Honestly? YES! My first nomination was with Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE). The second was with the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade (GCBBT) as Female Entrepreneur of the Year with them.

Recognition by my peers

These nominations are special as other individuals submitted them. It humbles me. They took time out of his/her/their day to complete a nomination form. It signifies recognition by my peers, by my community of supporters. To see my name put forward is a validation of the work I do.

The Galas

Both organizations held gala award dinners to recognize the winners. I knew prior to each I was not a winner. It was important to attend for several reasons. Firstly, I am grateful for the nominations. That in itself is an award for me. Secondly, attending the galas is a way for me to show support for these wonderful organizations. Thirdly, attending is a networking opportunity. Lastly, it is an opportunity to get gussied up and celebrate!

It is an honour to be nominated. It truly is! My sincere thanks to my nominator(s). I appreciate your thoughtfulness. ~ Carole
